“There was a different look to the group of soloists employed in this year’s concert. They were generally younger than in past BachFests and all had local or regional connections. Two were drawn from the Festival Chorus: Katelin Spencer and Victor Garcia. Soprano D. Giles Simmer is a graduate voice student in the WMU School of Music, and baritone Marcus Jordan is a graduate of WMU. These are all well-trained voices with promising potential.
